Wilma Mankiller Quarter

The third in a series of American Women Quarters has just been released, honoring Cherokee leader Wilma Mankiller (1945-2010). See stories on ABC News and Native News Online and a bio in Wikipedia. There is a local connection; she lived in the Bay Area for about 20 years, but then returned to Oklahoma and eventually became the the first woman elected to serve as Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation.
